Viele Menschen, die vor dem furchtbaren Krieg in der Ukraine fliehen müssen, kommen auch nach Deutschland. In einem fremden Land treten unweigerlich viele Fragen auf, gerade hinsichtlich des Aufenthalts, gesundheitlicher Versorgung und gesellschaftlicher Aspekte. Wir geben in zehn Videos Antworten ...auf die wichtigsten Fragen für geflüchtete Menschen aus der Ukraine. Dabei berücksichtigen wir die Aspekte: Leben mit HIV und/oder Tuberkulose, queeres Leben, Drogenkonsum und Substitution sowie Sexarbeit und geflüchtete Menschen ohne ukrainischen Pass.

States have committed and assumed obligations to address multiple and intersecting forms of discrimination against refugees, internally displaced persons, asylum seekers, returnees and stateless persons. The Global Compact on Refugees places ending discrimination of any kind based on the grounds of ...race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth, disability, age, or other status at the centre of action to prevent displacement and to ensure peaceful coexistence between refugee and host communities. Narratives about cultural diversity and inclusion are important, but there is also a pressing need in many societies for conversations and action to address racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance.

Eine Studie des Robert Koch-Instituts (2008) kam zu dem Ergebnis, dass Migrantinnen und Migranten ab 55 Jahren höhere Gesundheitsrisiken aufweisen als vergleichbare... Gruppen aus der Aufnahmegesellschaft. Dies liegt vor allem daran, dass sie ein höheres Armutsrisiko und einen geringeren sozialen Status haben als andere ältere Menschen.

Die Erinnerungen an ein fürchterliches Ereignis brennen manchmal wie eine körperliche Wunde. Diese Erinnerungen sind dann anders als di...e Erinnerungen, die man bis dahin kennt. Wenn man sich an bedrohliche Ereignisse erinnert, ist es so, als erlebe man die Bedrohung wieder. Es ist gar nicht so, als sei das Erlebte vergangen. Es ist so, als kehrte das Erlebte mit den Erinnerungen zurück. Die Erinnerungen werden nicht immer blasser, sondern bleiben stark und lebendig. Solche Erinnerungen machen es schwierig, wieder ein ganz normales Leben zu führen.

Children continue to be exposed to powerful food marketing, which predominantly promotes foods high in saturated fatty acids, trans-fatty acids, free sugars and/or sodium and uses a wide variety of marketing strategies that are likely to appeal to children. Food marketing has a harmful impact on chi...ldren’s food choice and their dietary intake, affects their purchase requests to adults for marketed foods and influences the development of their norms about food consumption. Food marketing is also increasingly recognized as a children’s rights concern, given its negative impact on several of the rights enshrined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.This WHO guideline provides Member States with recommendations and implementation considerations on policies to protect children from the harmful impact of food marketing, based on evidence specific to children and to the context of food marketing. Guidelines on other policies to improve the food environment are currently under development.

This is the fifth report of the Global Evidence Review on Health and Migration (GEHM) series. The publication focuses on the mental health needs of refugees and migrants by providing an overview of the available evidence on patterns of risk and protective factors and of facilitators and barriers to ...care at all levels (individual, family, community and national government). It identifies five high-level themes, each of which has implications for research and policy and is relevant across refugee and migrant groups, contexts and stages of the migration process: self-identity and community support; basic needs and security; cultural concepts of mental health as well as stigma; exposure to adversity and potentially traumatic events; navigating mental health and other systems and services.

Climate hazards, including extreme heat, are associated with increased risks of developing complications that lead to adverse maternal and perinatal outcomes. These may include multiple causes of maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality such as gestational diabetes, hyper tensive disorders of p...regnancy, preterm birth, low birth weight and stillbirth. In addition to the health risks related to poor nutrition, water, hygiene and sanitation, the effects of exposure to climate hazards and their aftermath during and after pregnancy can affect mental health and contribute to intergenerational trauma. They may increase stress, anxiety and depression – known risk factors for adverse perinatal outcomes.
