Community Care Centres (CCCs) are small facilities (10 beds maximum), located within the community and run by community health workers. CCCs provide isolation facilities for Ebola patients in order to prevent further transmission of the virus within their households and communities. People with Ebol...a virus can also receive basic curative and palliative care in these centres in an environment supported by their family and communities. This document describes key principles and main considerations for implementation of a community approach.

The guidelines acknowledge that overcrowding, unhygienic conditions and high inmate turn over contribute to the spread of infectious diseases within correctional facilities. All inmates must be screened for TB symptoms upon entry to facilities and at least bi-annually thereafter as well as upon release. La lutte contre la tuberculose est une des priorités du ministère de la santé. C’est ainsi que le Plan Stratégique National de lutte contre la Tuberculose 2013-2017 du Sénégal a inscrit dans son programme d’actions la préoccupation de mieux d’améliorer la prise en charge des personnes ...vulnérables, dont les prisonniers. L’état de santé est un indicateur clef du bien être de la société, et les prisons servent de miroir. Une bonne compréhension des conditions sanitaires des détenus pourrait contribuer à améliorer le système de santé publique d’un pays. L’environnement carcéral est bien reconnu comme un lieu où les conditions de vie sont propices à la concentration de l’ensemble des maladies de la société, en premier lieu, les morbidités infectieuses.
