The European Commission allocated an emergency aid package of €3.5 million on 19/03. The funding will be used to provide logistical support to reach affected people, emergency shelter, hygiene, sanitation, and health care. ie Malteser Werke und die Ipso gGmbH (International Psychosocial Organisation) freuen sich, mit einem neuen Kooperationsprojekt ab November 2018 gemeinsam die psychosoziale Versorgung von Geflüchteten und MigrantInn...en in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern auszuweiten.
Hierbei sind Geflüchtete und MigrantInnen nicht nur Zielgruppe, sondern auch aktive Mitgestalter*Innen der Dienste – die Beratung findet von und für MigrantInnen in deren Muttersprache statt.
In einer 12-monatigen praxisorientierten Schulung am Standort Rostock werden motivierte und geeignete Menschen mit Migrationshintergrund durch Ipso zu psychosozialen Counselorn qualifiziert. Im Anschluss werden diese u.a. die Migrationsarbeit der Malteser Werke mit einem mehrsprachigen psychosozialen Beratungsangebot ergänzen. Eine fortlaufende fachliche Supervision durch psychologische Ipso-Fachkräfte sichert hierbei die Qualität der Arbeit.

The Khartoum peace agreement signed on 6 February 2019 did not uphold rebel groups’ demand for a general amnesty, but it leaves many grey areas concerning the question of amnesty and justice.

Yemen remains the world’s worst humanitarian crisis with staggering levels of humanitarian need. Eighty per cent of the population – 24.1 million people – need some form of humanitarian assistance. Economic decline, restrictions on imports, shortages of foreign exchange and liquidity, and fluc...tuations in the value of the currency continues to put millions of people at risk of famine. Key assessments remain blocked, complicating efforts to adjust programmes based on the latest evidence. This makes it difficult to know with certainty whether there are large pockets of unmet needs across the country.
