As of 31 May 2021, Through PACT support, over 17154 CHWs have been trained and locally deployed in 24 AU Member states. The PACT supported CHWs visited more than 2,568,654 households for community engagement activities, active case search and contact tracing, identified 1,618,601 Contacts, 710,167 COVID 19 suspect cases based on the standard case definition and facilitated referrals for 553053 (78%) suspect cases for testing. These efforts were crucial for early identification and isolation of cases in limiting further transmission.

O uso de máscaras deve ser sempre acompanhado de outras medidas de prevenção e controle de infecção (PCI), como o distanciamento físico de pelo menos 1 metro, a higiene das mãos, evitar tocar o rosto e a etiqueta respiratória usando o cotovelo dobrado sempre que tossir ou espirrar. A limitação da permanência em locais com aglomeração ou espaços fechados, a garantia da ventilação adequada dos ambientes internos e fechados (6), e a limpeza regular das superfícies de alto contato também são medidas de precaução importantes a serem seguidas.

Although awareness on Health Care Waste Management (HCWM) has improved in recent years, there is the need for a systematic approach to improve on effective segregation, safe collection, and storage, as well as ultimate treatment before disposal.
This guideline seeks to ensure that HCW is managed effectively in compliance with existing International Conventions that Ghana is a signatory to, national laws and regulations, and others to be passed in future.
Recommendations for better management of HCW in the nation's health care facilities have been presented in this document. Also, standard operating procedures (SOPs) have been developed to provide
guidance to various levels of the health facilities.
