Myanmar has made significant progress in its disaster management policies, plans, and procedures since 2008, when Cyclone Nargis impacted the country leaving devastation in its aftermath. The Government of Myanmar (GoM) has modified the government structure and created new authorities and plans to i...mprove the effectiveness of disaster management at all levels. While this progress is encouraging and shows the determination of the government to make necessary adjustments, the resources to implement the policy changes have been slower to develop. The evidence base for differentiated care for stable patients has grown in recent years. There has been less attention, however, to developing differentiated models of care for patients with advanced or unstable HIV disease. The country is vulnerable to recurrent, sudden-onset and slow onset natural disasters with flooding, storms and typhoons hav...ing a large effect on the population. The country remains highly vulnerable to agricultural shocks and natural disasters.
Lao has established Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction (CBDRR) practices as a result of the many natural disasters the country faces. CBDRR is implemented at the village level to enhance community preparedness and to decrease village vulnerabilities to disasters.
Lao established the National Disaster Management Committee (NDMC) as its national disaster management platform and the National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) to be responsible for DRM (Disaster Risk Management) and DRR activities in the country.

Fostering resilient development through integrated action plan
The Myanmar Action Plan on Disaster Risk Reduction, 2017 is a comprehensive and unified action plan for disaster risk reduction with prioritized interventions across Myanmar till 2020. With a long term vision and considering deep-root...ed underlying drivers of disaster risk, it has set an overall target for 2030. it aims to provide a base for mobilizing and leveraging, primarily, national and external resources and will provide a basis for result printed outcomes.
The action plan identifies 32 priority actions under four pillars: risk information and awareness; risk governance; risk mitigation; and preparedness and response, rehabilitation and reconstruction. For each priority action, objectives, activities, outputs, duration, lead agencies, and supporting partners have been identified.

Das vorliegende Policy Paper zeigt die Erfahrungen der spezialisierten Fachberatungsstellen für Betroffene von Menschenhandel - die im Bundesweiten Koordinierungskreis gegen Menschenhandel vernetzt sind - im Kontext von Flucht auf und schildert die aktuelle Situation in Deutschland aus Sicht der Fa...chberatungsstellen. Gleichzeitig bietet es Informationen zu den Orten der Ausbeutung und den Herkunftsländern von Betroffenen. Es werden erste Erklärungen und Ursachen aufgezeigt, warum eine Mehrzahl der Klient*innen mit Fluchthintergrund aus westafrikanischen Ländern stammen. Abschliessend werden Handlungsempfehlungen an Bund und Länder sowie das deutsche Unterstützungssystem für Betroffene von Menschenhandel aufgestellt, um die Identifizierung und Unterstützung von Schutzsuchenden aus den Ländern Syrien, Afghanistan und Irak zu verbessern.
