Propósito de la guía. Considerando el contexto de aumento de factores de riesgo de origen natural y social al cual está sujeta la población en general y los niños, niñas, adolescentes y jóvenes (NNAJ) en forma particular, el propósito de esta guía es ofrecer orientaciones a los gobiernos pa...ra el desarrollo y la implementación de políticas públicas dirigidas a la Gestión del Riesgo de Desastres (GRD) bajo un enfoque multi-sectorial (específicamente en los sectores de Protección de la niñez y la juventud, Educación, Agua, saneamiento e higiene -WASH, por su siglas en inglés y Salud y Nutrición) para asegurar sus derechos en toda circunstancia. Estas orientaciones son sustentadas en los principios fundamentales de la Declaración Universal de los Derechos humanos (DUDH), la Convención de los Derechos de la Niñez (CDN), la Carta de la Niñez para la Reducción del Riesgo de Desastres, los Compromisos Básicos para la Infancia en la Acción Humanitaria de
UNICEF (CCC´s por su siglas en inglés) principalmente, tomado en consideración los objetivos estratégicos y las prioridades del Marco de Acción de Hyogo (MAH) o Hyogo Framework for Action (HFA) por su nombre y siglas en inglés.

La Convención sobre los Derechos del Niño de las Naciones Unidas es el tratado más ampliamente ratificado de la historia. Los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) han sido acordados por todos los gobiernos. La Convención y los ODS van de la mano.
No podremos alcanzar los ODS sin hacer reali...dad los derechos de todos los niños y niñas y viceversa.
El presente informe apela a los Estados para que cumplan sus compromisos con un vigor, una urgencia y una imaginación renovados para que todos los niños y niñas puedan crecer sanos, con acceso a la educación, protegidos de la violencia y con la libertad de elegir cómo quieren vivir sus vidas.
Pero esta tarea no la pueden lograr solo los Estados. Nosotros, como las seis principales ONG internacionales dedicadas a la infancia en todo el mundo, creemos que nuestra aportación es importante.

The document at hand presents key findings from a project undertaken globally between July 2014 and May 2015 to assess progress made by UNHCR country and regional operations to effectively protect lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender, and intersex (LGBTI) asylum-seekers and refugees. Globally, 10...6 offices, or roughly 90% of eligible country and regional operations, participated in the assessment. The key findings are presented along the following axes: legal, cultural and social context; outreach activities; displacement conditions; asylum and durable solutions; training on issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI); operational guidelines and advocacy efforts.

La hemorragia posparto (HPP) se define comúnmente como la pérdida de sangre
de 500 ml o más en el término de 24 horas después del parto. La HPP es la causa
principal de mortalidad materna en países de ingresos bajos y la causa primaria de
casi un cuarto de todas las defunciones maternas en ...todo el mundo. La mayoría de las
muertes provocadas por HPP ocurren durante las primeras 24 horas después del parto:
la mayoría de estas podrían evitarse a través del uso profiláctico de agentes uterotónicos
durante el alumbramiento y mediante un tratamiento oportuno y apropiado.
Mejorar la atención de la salud de las mujeres durante el parto para prevenir y tratar la HPP
representa un paso necesario para el cumplimiento de los Objetivos de Desarrollo del Milenio.
Por lo tanto, el objetivo primario de esta directriz es proporcionar los cimientos para el
desarrollo estratégico de políticas y programas necesarios para garantizar la implementación
sostenible de intervenciones eficaces para reducir la carga global que representa la HPP.
