Most of these deaths will occur in the WHO ...regions of Africa, South-East Asia and the Eastern Mediterranean. In the African Region alone, NCDs will cause around 3.9 million deaths by 2020.

Two thirds of all Syrians have lost their homes and their livelihoods. Millions of Syrians have been uprooted from their home communities and forced to flee within their country or to neighbouring countries. The consistent spill-over has drawn global attention not just to the humanitarian crisis facing both local communities and national governments but also to the economic and social strain. The bloodshed wreaked by the different parties continues. The suffering deepens. Approximately half of the Syrian refugees and displaced persons are children and young people who suffer from a double-vulnerability: as children and as migrants or refugees.

Millionen Syrer wurden aus ihrem Lebensumfeld gerissen und gezwungen, innerhalb ihres Landes oder in die Nachbarländer zu fliehen. Die enormen Auswirkungen auf andere Länder ziehen internationale Aufmerksamkeit auf sich. Diese richtet sich nicht nur auf die humanitäre Krise in den betroffenen Gebieten und Ländern, sondern auch auf deren wirtschaftliche und soziale Last. Das durch die verschiedenen Konfliktparteien verursachte Blutvergießen hält an, das Leid wird größer. Rund die Hälfte aller syrischen Flüchtlinge und Vertriebenen sind Kinder und Jugendliche: Diese sind doppelt verletzlich – als Kinder und als Flüchtlinge oder Vertriebene.

From dealing with health and security challenges to technical information on radio operation, map reading, four-wheel driving – the ENTRi handbook is a valuable companion for work in a mission.
