Um vor diesem Hintergrund interessierte Studierende auf ihrem Weg zum eigenen Global-Health-Forschu...ngsprojekt zu unterstützen, hat die AG Forschungsplattform der Global Health Alliance-Deutschland (GHA-D), in Kooperation mit weiteren Institutionen, das Handbuch "Forschung mit Weitblick" entwickelt. Neben Hintergrundinformationen und Anregungen zur kritischen Reflexion werden in dem Handbuch eine Auswahl von Forschungsarbeiten mit Global-Health-Bezug sowie erste Schritte zur Umsetzung eines eigenen Forschungsprojekts vorgestellt.

In laying out these peace requirements, the report focuses on the following relevant sectors: economy, politics, culture and society, as well as security and justice. The new guidelines provide public health guidance on pharmacological agents for managing hyperglycaemia in type 1 and type 2 diabetes for use in primary health-care in low-resource settings. These guidelines update the recommendations for managing hyperglycaemia in the WHO Package of Essential NCD I...nterventions (WHO PEN) for primary care in low-resources settings, reviewing several newer oral agents as second- and third-line treatment: dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors, sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 inhibitors and thiazolidinediones. The guidelines also present recommendations on the selection of type of insulin (analogue versus human insulin) for adults with type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

During much of early childhood – from... 6 months to 5years of age – two high doses of vitamin A every year can prevent blindness and hearing loss, boost children’s immunity against diseases like measles and diarrhoea and provide critical protection against death. Like all forms of malnutrition, vitamin A deficiency is a marker of inequality. In countries where diets are lacking in vitamin A and infections and deaths are prevalent, supplementation programmes give vulnerable children a better chance to survive, develop and thrive.

The experience in focal countries points to a number of tools and tactics that can be used to help establish and enhance sustainable multisectoral collaboration for AMR action. These can be grouped into four categories: political commitment, resources, governance mechanisms, and practical management.
