In einem mehrstufigen Prozess unter Beteiligung der Partner:innenorganisationen der Bundesinitiative, Vertreter:innen aus Landesministerien, Landes- und kommunalen Behörden sowie Gewaltschutzkoordinator:innen und -multiplikator:innen wurden die Mindeststandards 2021 aktualisiert (April 2021).
