En esta edición se presenta también un nuevo capítulo sobre protección de la infancia. El libro está dirigido a los padres y madres, las familias, los trabajadores de salud, los maestros, los grupos juveniles, los grupos de mujeres, las organizaciones comunitarias, los funcionarios gubernamentales, los empleadores, los sindicatos, los medios de comunicación y las organizaciones no gubernamentales y confesionales.

Étude menée dans le cadre du Projet "Ville Handicap" dans les communes d'Antsiranana et de Mahajanga
El propósito general de la reunión fue analizar la interrelación entre la salud, la nutrición y el desarrollo infantil, dentro del marco de la “Estrategia Global para la Alimentación y Nutrición del Infante y Niño Pequeño” (OMS/UNICEF).
La silla de ruedas es uno de los medios de asistencia de uso más frecuente para mejorar la movilidad personal, condición previa para disfrutar de los derechos humanos y una vida digna, y ayuda a las personas con discapacidad a convertirse en miembros más productivos de sus comunidades. Para mucho...s, una silla de ruedas adecuada, bien diseñada y armada puede constituir el primer paso hacia la inclusión y participación en la sociedad.
Este documento ha sido publicado con el fin de ayudar a los Estados Miembros de la OMS a crear y desarrollar un sistema local de suministro de sillas de ruedas y poner así en ejecución los Artículos 4, 20 y 26 de la Convención sobre los Derechos de las Personas con discapacidad.

Si le malaise ressenti lorsque l’on se trouve en présence du handicap constitue un invariant culturel (Stiker, 2005), chaque culture lui confère néanmoins une signification particulière (Murphy, 1990). Quelle...s sont alors les spécificités des situations de handicap au Burkina Faso ? Les idées reçues sur le continent africain sont nombreuses (Courade, 2006) : concernant le traitement des personnes handicapées, les représentations oscillent selon Poizat (2007) entre « afro-optimisme » et « afro-pessimisme » ; si la solidarité communautaire est parfois considérée comme garantissant leur non-singularisation (Guilmain-Gauthier & Jacquemin, 1994), les croyances traditionnelles relatives au « monde invisible » sont souvent invoquées comme déterminant à l’inverse leur maltraitance et leur exclusion (Devlieger, 1994).
