Anyone who manages, works, volunteers or provides care at any type of facilities where older people recei...ve care at (long-term care facilities, non-acute care facilities, and home care services), should practice strict IPC to prevent and control COVID-19 outbreaks. It has been observed in different countries that older people have higher case-fatality rate compared to other age groups. Therefore, it is especially important to implement and follow IPC measures at facilities, homes, and other venues that older people frequent.

School closures and the wider socio-economic impacts of COVID-19 on communities and society also disrup...t children’s and young people’s normal support systems, leaving them more vulnerable to illnesses and child protection risks such as physical and humiliating punishment, sexual and gender-based violence, child marriage, child labour, child trafficking and recruitment and use in armed conflict. Massnahmen der physischen Distanzierung sind in der Sammelunterbringung für Geflüchtete meist nicht oder nur bedingt umsetzbar: Beengte Verhältnisse, Mehrbettzimmer und gemein...schaftliche Nutzung von Küchen und Sanitäranlagen stellen Kontexte dar, die eine Ausbreitung von Infektionserkrankungen begünstigen. Zunehmend werden in diesen Settings Infektionen mit dem neuartigen Coronavirus (SARS‐CoV‐2) bekannt. Die Ansätze zu Prävention und Management von SARS‐CoV‐2 sind regional unterschiedlich, Vorgaben fehlen bisher auf nationaler und internationaler Ebene. So werden vielerorts Aufnahmeeinrichtungen und Gemeinschaftsunterkünfte beim Auftreten einer SARS‐CoV‐2‐Infektion unter Geflüchteten kollektiv unter Quarantäne gestellt.

This evaluation is the fifth in a series of structured evaluations of CFS and was completed as part of three-year collaboration with World Vision and Columbia University. It was conducted with Syrian refugees in an urban setting in Zarqa, Jordan during the months of February to August 2014. The CFS ...was implemented through partners and supported and monitored by World Vision Jordan. Interviews were conducted during a one-week registration period hosted by partner staff and preceded by awareness campaigns in the community. Measurement tools were selected to assess impact in three areas in line with the programme’s key objectives: (a) the protection of children from risk, (b) supporting caregivers and communities in strengthening systems of child protection, and (c) the promotion of children’s psychosocial wellbeing (including the acquisition of skills and knowledge).
