But data from HIV Sentinel Sero-Surveillance (HSS) indicates higher prevalence in 2014 among key populations: FSW 6.3%, MSM 6.6% and PWID 23.1%. Compared to 2012 data, the prevalence has declined from 7.1% in FSW and 8.9% in MSM, but has increased from 18% in PWID.
Epidemiological modelling suggests that in 2014 there were around 212,000 people living with HIV (PLHIV) in Myanmar, 34% of whom were females. Nearly 11,000 people died of HIV-related illnesses, compared to approximately 15,000 in 2011. An estimated 9,000 new infections occurred in 2014. more

Maternal and child malnutrition is a significant public health problem in South Sudan. Overall, South Sudan’s nutrition situation is worrisome, with GAM persistently above the emergency threshold in the Greater Upper Nile, Northern Bahr el Ghazal and Warrap states. Though data on micronutrient deficiencies is scanty, Vitamin A Supplementation (VAS) among children 6-59 months stood at only 2.6% in 2010, showing low uptake (SHHS, 2010). This is against a backdrop of high morbidity levels and a negligible proportion of children 6 to 23 months receiving at least the recommended minimum acceptable diet. In order to ensure optimal child growth, it is essential to ensure good nutrition and basic health care from pregnancy through two years of age (the first 1000 days). more

Though data on micronutrient deficiencies is scanty, Vitamin A Supplementation (VAS) among children 6-59 months stood at only 2.6% in 2010, showing low uptake (SHHS, 2010). This is against a backdrop of high morbidity levels and a negligible proportion of children 6 to 23 months receiving at least the recommended minimum acceptable diet. Die neue Broschüre beschreibt in einer verständlichen Sprache die Entstehung von Traumafolgestörungen und gibt Tipps und Hinweise zum Umgang mit traumatisierten Geflüchteten. Sie soll helfen, für die Hintergründe von Traumata und für uns allenfalls unübliche Verhaltensweisen traumatisierter Personen zu verstehen und einzuordnen und unser eigenes Verhalten entsprechend anzupassen.
Die Broschüre ist eine Ergänzung zur 2012 erstmals aufgelegten Broschüre „Wenn das Vergessen nicht gelingt“. Diese richtet sich an Betroffene mit posttraumatischer Belastungsstörung (PTBS oder PTSD) und deren Angehörige.
