This document was prepared in response to a need to review and potentially update the current recommendations for the antibiotic treatment of both inpatient ... outpatient management of severe acute malnutrition (SAM). The current recommendations (Table 1) are based on guidelines published in 2013 in the WHO Pocketbook for Hospital Care for Children, and the 2013 update on SAM (outpatient management). As part of its response to the global epidemic of obesity, WHO has issued guidelines to support primary healthcare workers identify ... manage children who are overweight or obese. Specifically, all infants and children aged less than 5 years presenting to primary health-care facilities should have both weight and height measured in order to determine their weight-for-height and their nutritional status according to WHO child growth standards. Comparing a child's weight with norms for its length/height is an effective way to assess for both wasting and overweight more

A new frontier for integrated care. Until now, most efforts to promote integrated care have focused on bridging the gaps between health and social care or between primary ... secondary care. But the NHS five year forward view has highlighted a third dimension – bringing together physical and mental health. This report makes a compelling case for this ‘new frontier’ for integration. It gives service users’ perspectives on what integrated care would look like and highlights ten areas that offer some of the biggest opportunities for improving quality and controlling costs. more
