Recognising environmental degradation and climate change are key accelerators of extreme child vulnerability, World Vision (WV) approved the Environmental Stewardship Management Policy (‘the Policy’) and Guidelines (‘the Guidelines’) in 2021.
To support the implementation of the Policy and Guidelines, WV has developed this Environmental Stewardship and Climate Action Handbook (‘the Handbook’) to help offices across the WV Partnership implement best practice environmental management strategies both in the field and in our operations and facilities.
Integrating environmental stewardship and climate action into all our work – whether that be in our Area Programmes, grant projects, responses to disasters or advocacy – is critical to achieving WV’s strategy.
As a Christian organisation we are compelled to follow the ways of Jesus Christ, calling us to care for the ‘least of these’ (Matthew 25:40) – the vulnerable children who are disproportionately impacted by climate change. Our response to the degradation of the environment is not motivated by political expediency or funding – but because we are called to steward God’s creation (Genesis 1:28).

Marginalized groups and people in vulnerable situations are often disproportionally affected. While the impacts of climate change already become more tangible and threatening, action for addressing them remains insufficient. Adaptation to climate change is, thus, becoming a necessity for governments, companies, and private citizens.
To provide practical and scientifically sound guidance on how to conduct vulnerability assessments, GIZ published its Vulnerability Sourcebook in 2014. The Vulnerability Sourcebook was used in over twenty different GIZ partner countries and provides a step-by-step guidance for designing and implementing a vulnerability assessment. It is also one of the methodological foundations for the ISO 14091:2021 standard on vulnerability, impacts and risk assessment for climate change adaptation.

Kognitiven Verhaltenstherapie, welche sich in der Forschung als wirksam bei Depression erwiesen hat. Es hat sich gezeigt, dass onlinebasierte Programme genauso gut wie eine persönliche Behandlung bei einem Arzt oder Therapeuten funktionieren können.
Es ist derzeit in zwölf Sprachen verfügbar (deutsch, englisch, italienisch, estnisch, ungarisch, griechisch, norwegisch, spanisch, katalanisch, baskisch, albanisch, arabisch; Stand November 2018). Die deutsche Version wird über die Stiftung Deutsche Depressionshilfe im Rahmen einer Kooperation mit der Deutsche Bahn Stiftung angeboten, evaluiert und weiterentwickelt.

Elle va orienter les efforts visant à : accélérer et cibler l’essentiel des actions de prévention en renforçant des approches à la fois comportementales, biomédicales et structurelles ; faciliter l’accès individuel à l’information concernant le statut personnel vis-à-vis des infections sexuellement transmissibles ; améliorer l’accès au traitement et à l’éventail complet des soins de longue durée, le cas échéant ; et combattre la stigmatisation et la discrimination généralisées. Le projet de stratégie encourage une démarche centrée sur la personne et fondée sur les principes des droits fondamentaux, de l’égalité entre les sexes et de l’équité en santé.
