Discussion Paper "Mental health, poverty and development", July 2009
Panam Salud Publica. 2021;45:e22. https://doi.org/10.26633/RPSP.2021.22
This brief document compiles existing material related to mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) for the COVID-19 crisis, as well as other resources that can be applicable to the context. Do...cuments are divided into different sections, based on the ‘’spaces of new vulnerability” inherent to some IOM programmes although many of them are applicable to other areas. The indicators and questions in this document are designed for use by national AIDS programmes and partners to assess the state of a country’s HI...V and AIDS response, and to measure progress towards achieving national HIV targets. Countries are encouraged to integrate these indicators and questions into their ongoing monitoring efforts and to report comprehensive national data through the Global AIDS Monitoring (GAM) process. In this way they will contribute to improving understanding of the global response to the HIV epidemic, including progress that has been made towards achieving the commitments and global targets set out in the new United Nations Political Declaration on HIV and AIDS: Ending Inequalities and Getting on Track to End AIDS by 2030, adopted in June 2021, and the linked Sustainable Development Goals.

disorders are markedly insufficient; in addition, there are large

Urgent action is required to enhance the resources available
to address the increasing burden of neurological disorders.

The emergence and transmission of zoonotic diseases are driven by complex interactions
between health, environmental, and socio-political systems.... Human movement is considered
a significant and increasing factor in these processes, yet forced migration remains an
understudied area of zoonotic research–due in part to the complexity of conducting interdisciplinary
research in these settings.
