La indicación de profilaxis primaria con antibióticos en relación a los procedimientos invasivos, tiene como objetivo disminuir la incidencia de infecciones con la consecuente disminución de la morbimortalidad debiendo utilizarse únicamente en aquellos procedimientos en los que hay evidencia de efectividad.
