The consistent spill-over has drawn global attention not just to the humanitarian crisis facing both local communities and national governments but also to the economic and social strain. The bloodshed wreaked by the different parties continues. The suffering deepens. Significant numbers of Venezuelans continue to cross Colombia by foot, heading for larger cities with more opportunities and better services or towards the southern border with Ecuador to continue their onward journey to a third country. Refugees and migrants arrive in Colombia with immediate humanitarian needs including access to safe accommodation, food, basic health care, but the prolonged nature of their displacement also requires longer term solutions including access to formal employment, education and social integration. The Interagency Group for Mixed Migration Flows (GIFMM) works closely with the Government at both the national level, and across 11 of the most affected departments, to deliver direct emergency assistance, protection, socio-economic integration activities and seeks to build the capacity of the host government.

Communautaires de Base (OCB). Celles-ci ont contribué à l’amélioration de l’offre des
services de santé, malgré l’absence d’une politique coordonnée devant servir de cadre
institutionnel à la santé communautaire.
A l’étape actuelle du processus de mise en oeuvre de diverses expériences pilotes d’actions
communautaires, le Ministère de la Santé s’est engagé dans une réflexion visant l’élaboration
d’une politique nationale de santé communautaire. Celle-ci devra servir à encadrer la mise à
l’échelle des interventions communautaires qui ont démontré leur efficacité et leur impact
sur les populations cibles. Cette réflexion a entraîné la tenue du forum national sur la santé
communautaire en Novembre 2013 à Cotonou.
Le document de Politique de Santé Communautaire s’arrime au Plan National de
Développement Sanitaire à travers lequel le Bénin ambitionne de « disposer en 2025 d’un
système de santé performant basé sur des initiatives publiques et privées, individuelles et
collectives, pour l’offre et la disponibilité permanente de soins de qualité, équitable et
accessible aux populations de toutes catégories, fondées sur les valeurs de solidarité et de
partage du risque pour répondre à l’ensemble des besoins de santé du peuple béninois » Dans
le présent document, il est défini une vision, des priorités et des stratégies pour les dix
prochaines années en santé communautaire. La principale innovation réside dans la
conception et la mise en place au niveau de chaque village et quartier de ville de la
composante locale du système national de santé (CoLoSS) en partenariat avec toutes les
parties prenantes. Le document précise les conditions requises et les mesures
d’accompagnement pour la réussite de la nouvelle politique dans le sens de l’autonomisation
(empowerment) progressive des populations.

But considering the dimension of these major challenges, only small steps have been taken so far. The scope of the problem continues to be underestimated. Climate change is jeopardizing the livelihoods of more and more people. It is a risk multiplier. Although understanding of the connection between climate change and migration has increased, many questions have yet to be answered. We need more knowledge to better support the people affected.

We found a health system in utter collapse with increased levels of maternal and infant mortality; the spread of vaccine-preventable diseases, such as measles and diphtheria; and increases in numbers of infectious diseases such as malaria and tuberculosis (TB). Although the government stopped publishing official data on nutrition in 2007, research by Venezuelan organizations and universities documents high levels of food insecurity and child malnutrition, and available data shows high hospital admissions of malnourished children.

based study looked at RTA victims treated in five public and faith-based
hospitals in Benin. Disability was evaluated using the Washington Group on
Disabilities Statistics questionnaire. The independent variables were related to
the victim’s socio-demographic traits, the circumstances of the accident, and
post-crash response mechanisms. The proportions were compared using the
chi-squared test, with a threshold of 5%. Results: The prevalence of disability
among road traffic accident victims is 9.59% (CI 95%: 6.86% - 13.20%). The
occurrence of disability is associated with age (p = 0.002), occupational group
(p = 0.0077), the mode of transport used to transfer the victim (p < 0.001)
and the location of the injuries (p = 0.0035). The study also found that people
fail to make sufficient use of post-crash response mechanisms. Conclusion:
Public policy-makers should therefore focus on stepping up interventions to
get more people using both protective equipment and post-crash response services.

ainsi que des domaines d’action et autres approches stratégiques qui guideront l’action de l’OMS au
Bénin.

found that uptake has been remarkably positive: the Checklist has been adopted in almost 90% of operating rooms in countries with a high Human Development Index (HDI), a country-level measure of health, education, and standard of living. It was referenced by at least 139 (70%) of the world's countries and is included as a national standard by the health ministries of at least 20 countries. The Checklist has also had beneficial qualitative impact, introducing a culture of safety and improved communication within surgical teams, increasing patient trust, and improving job satisfaction.
