This guidance is intended for use in developing standalone TB strategic plans, or TB interventions as part of multidisease or health sector plans. It describes key considerations and steps for strategic planning for TB in line with the World Health Organization’s End TB strategy, and the proposed ...structure of the NSP. The target audience of this publication are all stakeholders involved in national strategic planning for TB (e.g., ministry of health, other government ministries, private sector, civil society, affected communities, academic and research institutions, and technical and funding partners).
The current document is an update to the 2015 Toolkit to develop a national strategic plan for TB prevention, care and control.

Au cours des derniers mois, la situation sécuritaire et humanitaire s'est rapidement détériorée dans les régions du Nord, du CentreNord, du Sahel, de la Boucle du Mouhoun et de l’Est du Burkina Faso. Cette dégradation a entraîné un accroissement substantiel des déplacements internes et ag...gravé l'accès déjà très limité aux services sociaux de base dans un contexte d'extrême pauvreté dans ces localités. Alors que l'insécurité augmente progressivement depuis 2017, l’année 2019 a été particulièrement violente, provoquant une augmentation sans précédent des besoins humanitaires. 2,9 millions de burkinabè sont dans un besoin humanitaire de plus en plus croissant dans tous les secteurs. Ces lignes directrices provisoires offrent des recommandations sur les utilisations prioritaires des tests de diagnostic rapide à détection d'antigène (TDR-Ag) dans des populations et des contextes spécifiques, notamment (i) pour la détection primaire des cas chez les personnes symptomatiques suspectées d'être infectées et les personnes asymptomatiques à haut risque de COVID-19, (ii) pour la recherche des contacts, (iii) pendant les enquêtes sur les épidémies et (iv) pour surveiller les tendances de l'incidence de la maladie dans les communautés. L’Organisation panaméricaine de la Santé (OPS) travaillera avec les États Membres pour atteindre son but et son objectif, qui consistent à permettre à tous de vivre en bonne santé et à promouvoir le bien-être de tous à tout âge, en employant une approche durable et équitable qui accorde la priorité à la réduction des iniquités en matière de santé. Le programme a été élaboré sous l’égide de la Stratégie mondiale de l’OMS sur la santé, l’environnement et les changements climatiques et s’appuie sur les engagements énoncés dans le Programme d’action sanitaire durable pour les Amériques 2018-2030 et le Plan stratégique de l’OPS 2020-2025. Le programme a été élaboré en consultation avec le groupe consultatif technique et par un processus décisionnel consensuel avec les États Membres au cours de la période 2019-2020. En vue de la réalisation de l’objectif de développement durable 3, le programme se concentre sur l’amélioration de la performance des programmes et des institutions de santé publique environnementale, la promotion de systèmes de santé résilients et durables sur le plan environnemental et la promotion de villes et de communautés saines et résilientes sur le plan environnemental. Sa mise en œuvre sera adaptée au contexte, en fonction des besoins et des réalités des pays. Il facilitera l’accès aux ressources humaines, techniques et financières nécessaires pour agir sur les déterminants environnementaux de la santé et fera en sorte que la Région soit pleinement engagée dans les processus et les accords mondiaux en matière de santé, d’environnement et de changements climatiques.

This paper explores access to water, sanitation, and health in pastoral communities in northern Tanzania. It argues that the concept of gender, used on its own, is not enough to understand the complexities of sanitation, hygiene, water, and health. It explores pastoralists’ views and perspectives ...on what is ‘clean’, ‘safe’, and ‘healthy’, and their need to access water and create sanitary arrangements that work for them, given the absence of state provision of modern water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) infrastructure. Although Tanzania is committed to enhancing its citizens’ access to WASH services, pastoral sanitation and hygiene tend to be overlooked and little attention is paid to complex ways in which access to ‘clean’ water and ‘adequate sanitation’ is structured in these communities. This paper offers an intersectional analysis of water and sanitation needs, showing how structural discrimination in the form of a lack of appropriate infrastructure, a range of sociocultural norms and values, and individual stratifiers interact to influence the sanitation and health needs of pastoralist men, women, boys, and girls.
